Shadow Puppet Mirror prototypes are inspired by shadow puppetry, a playful and primitive form of storytelling. We used this ancient form of expression to develop the graphic shapes for the frames. By casting hand shadows, we created creatures from our northern habitat.

Shadow Puppet Mirrors are designed for sustainability by using repurposed materials. The design consists of upcycled, locally-sourced components: aluminum composite material and vintage etched mirrors. Designed with Elizabeth Salonen.
